NYT changes headline on blogger story
by henrycopelandMonday, February 14th, 2005
Earlier today, the NYT’s headline read “Bloggers as News Media Trophy Hunters”… now the headline is “Resignation at CNN Shows the Growing Influence of Blogs”… wonder what the story is there… perhaps blogger pushback on self-centered editorial paranoia (”shreek, they want our hides!”) embarrassed the headline writers into a less hysterical head?

This is entirely unrelated, but I just saw this and had to pass it along . . . Has anyone else seen this site? http://endangeredman.com/source/homepage.html

I thought that headline was great - except for the fact that the story didn’t back it up. I suspect NYT switched it when they couldn’t actually point to material in the story suggesting that there was intent among bloggers to go after traditional media individuals. A list of disgraced old school media people doesn’t “trophy hunting” make. I’m sure there were a few bloggers who pointed this out. The dissonance between the intent suggested in the headline and that revealed in the story was marked.
Over at MarketingVOX.com, we were set to blog the story that a.m., but then we read it. It turned out to be nothing.
