Only on a blog…

Josh Marshall publishes an unbroken string of 100+ questions & answers from a White House Press conference this morning. This is the kind of “I publish, you decide” journalism that can only appear on a blog. In juxtaposition to the sound bites published by traditional media, this is a factual banquet. Finally, the message is the message.

I think it’s annoying as hell. Blogs should never have posts that long. And really, really bad for advertisers.

In a couple of hours, the item will be gone, at least from public view. Scrolling is easier than clicking to “read more” = I’d rather skim or skip posts that don’t engage me.

Definitely. There’s plenty of vertical space on the Web. I’d rather publishers use it than stick with the artificial “page” model.
I read that Josh Marshall post right about when he posted it, and I found it extremely useful to understanding the subject at hand.
I wouldn’t want to visit a blog that did that every day (gaggles are usually boring as hell), but Marshall knows his audience–that particular Q&A was compelling from start to finish for his readers.

Could anyone actually read that entire post? I have my doubts…
