D’Amato spins a superb tale about a Budapest night-spot, the Feszek Klub. Unmentioned: behind a locked door on the third floor is a 100 foot diameter circular room. Painted reflective gold in the 60’s, it’s got some Grecian motifs and a shallow dome spanning the whole space — right out of the Martian Chronicles. Peter Molnar and I staged a blast there in 1992, a party was unmatched in fervent novelty until Matt and Emmanuelle (and Jim Lowney?) rented the outdoor pool — with surf! — at the Gellert Hotel in 1997.
